PowerPunch presents you with a simple, familiar image browsing interface. Search for and preview as many stitch files as you wish. If you like, you can drop your entire hard disk into the browser window and let it rip. PowerPunch will happily find and preview all your files.
PowerPunch allows you to drag its previews into the Finder in exactly the manner you're already used to. Select as many as you like, and drag to your desktop, or into a folder, and the files represented by the previews will move. Hold down the option key, and the files will be copied. Great looking previews combined with drag-and-drop Finder integration means you can visually sift through any number of files and reorganize them any way you like. If that's not enough, you can also save PowerPunch previews into your stitch files as custom icons, allowing you to see and organize your files directly in the Finder. Other software calls this 'thumbnailing.' We just call it obvious.
PowerPunch's Inspector window has a simple but powerful measurement tool with a 2mm grid, and crosshairs that let you measure distances anywhere in a design down to a tenth of a millimeter. It even knows how big your main screen is, and can show your design at the actual size it will stitch. Naturally, you can pan and zoom in for greater accuracy if you wish. Will this design fit into a larger project? Now you know.
Want to see inside your design? PowerPunch shows you the thread layers in a design, or hides them if you wish, allowing you to see things like hidden run stitches. Not enough detail? You can also simulate a complete stitchout from beginning to end with simple, elegant controls. Watch underlay stitches build up on your computer screen before you watch your machine produce a too-dense, bulletproof stitchout that's bound for the recycling bin.
PowerPunch allows you to assign thread colors from any manufacturer to your design. If that's not enough, you can open a color picker and assign any color you choose manually. You can even assign a background color to your design just in case you weren't intending to stitch every design in your arsenal onto something white. PowerPunch saves these choices alongside your stitch files automatically so you never lose them.
Once you've assigned your threads, PowerPunch will use these assignments to produce its outstanding simulated 3D, fully anti-aliased previews (the only kind we do, unlike other software.) And PowerPunch uses technology usually reserved for 3D games to draw those previews before you can blink. Show them to your clients on-screen, or use the PDF reporting feature to print or email them (at a print-friendly 300dpi, naturally) for your clients' approval. Better, faster previews for your clients means more time spent stitching.
PowerPunch has a statistics view that shows you all kinds of helpful information about a design. How many regular stitches are there? How many jump stitches are there? What's the length of the longest stitch? How many meters of thread will be used? How long will this design take to stitch? PowerPunch knows, and will show you on screen at the click of a mouse.
If this isn't enough, you can also generate detailed reports and even entire catalogs in PDF format. PowerPunch reports are complete with all the statistics you can see on screen, plus charts with all your thread data, and full-color design previews at 300dpi - either for your own reference, or for your customers to browse on screen or on paper. There's even a standard disclaimer at the bottom of each page so you have one less thing to explain to your clients.
